We are a Showcase District for Cambridge
This distinction is given to districts that have developed a strong program. We are asked to participate in both virtual and face-to-face presentations to schools. We have been pleased to serve in this capacity. When we began this journey with Cambridge, we were able to visit schools and meet with teams that truly helped us.

A Visit From the United Kingdom
We were recently visited by Rod Smith, Group Managing Director for Cambridge. His visit took place at Torrence Creek Elementary, where students greeted him with information regarding Torrence Creek. He visited the Science Lab and their STEM lab. He was impressed with both and enjoyed the level of rigor and problem solving he saw in both. Mr. Smith was able to visit several classrooms to see how we are utilizing the Cambridge philosophies. we transitioned to Hopewell High School, where he was met by district leadership and a host of Hopewell students and faculty. The visit centered around classroom visits and discussions with students, teachers, and administrators. Mr. Smith was able to see every part of the CMS Cambridge Program. This is our third visit from Cambridge UK leadership as well as our Cambridge North American leadership, Mark Cavone, Regional Director, Heather Tsonopoulos, Deputy Regional Director, Program Management and Strategic Communications and Gia Kaul, Schools Development Manager.

Hopewell High School Scholar Award Winners for 2024
16 students from Hopewell High School have received prestigious awards from Cambridge International Education, part of Cambridge University Press & Assessment and the University of Cambridge, to acknowledge their outstanding performance on the June 2024 Cambridge examinations. The awards celebrate the success of students taking Cambridge examinations around the world. More than a million students study Cambridge programs every year in over 160 countries.
Congratulations to Tabitha Aronson, Class of 2025 for receiving the Cambridge Scholar Award with Distinction.

WE ARE GROWING AND THERE IS A NEW WAY TO BECOME A CAMBRIDGE STUDENT!
Thank you for your interest in Cambridge! There are two ways for our students to participate in program. There is the traditional way: living within the boundaries of one of our already established Cambridge International Schools or by taking part in the School Choice Magnet Lottery and being a part of our only Cambridge magnet school at Eastway Middle.
Our neighborhood schools include: Hopewell High School, Francis Bradley Middle School, Mountain Island Lake Academy, Barnette Elementary, Long Creek Elementary, Torrence Creek Elementary, Grand Oak Elementary; West Mecklenburg High School, Coulwood STEM Academy, Chambers High School, Palisades High School, and Independence High School. Check your home school boundary to see if one of these is your school. If you don't live in one of these neighborhood schools, don't panic!
All elementary schools and middle schools are full Cambridge, with middle schools offering additional Cambridge honors courses in math, science, and English. Students in high school with a C may register for IGCSE (honors level) course and AS/A (college level) courses when registering. There are no applications to participate in this program. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our schools.
